Capturing connection between families is the best part of the portrait session ~ the natural interaction between father and son, mummy and her baby boy. Feeling the love these parents have for their little boy, is what I love to photograph.  I can see the love between this family, but you can feel it in their photos.  As Piglet asked Pooh - "How do you spell LOVE??" Pooh replies "You don't spell it, you feel it"

NOAH'S FAMILY PORTRAIT | IPSWICH PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | PRIVATE PROPERTY

Noah's mummy had a very clear vision for her family portraits, even the props were supplied by her and the location was another trick up her sleeve, It was my job to execute her vision, and that I did.  Never have I come across such a lovely person and beautiful family.  Noah is very lucky to have Renee and Josh as his parents.

Family is everything. We're born into it, made for it and spend our lives growing it. It's about legacy. Everything that Josh and I are together in marriage, Noah already is by himself. Children take the best parts of who you are and build upon the ground you establish. Family changes everything! Noah has brought such joy into our lives. He makes us more aware of the hidden, little wonders in every day and causes our eyes to turn to what is truly important. Children have a gift of finding significance in anything, not matter how small. This is how we should live! As he discovers new sounds and sights, we find ourselves rediscovering the whole world around us too. I love his depth of character, the strength and determination and willingness to give anything a go. But what I love most is that he never gives up. What a privilege it is to see the gifts within him and spend our days stewarding a son into the call upon his life! ~ Renee

Meet Ethan and his family.  

Stevi, him mummy, is expecting little boy number two in the last image.  At the time of their family portraits we were both pregnant, almost the same distance through, our little boys are only 8 weeks apart.  How blessed am I to have so many little boys to photograph lately.  

Stevi quite often says that Ethan is quite the little cyclone at home,  he looks far to innocent to be into mischief, perhaps a little devil in disguise??

IPSWICH CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER | SWANBANK RAILWAY STATION | PAIGE

Little girls and tutu's.....2 of my favourite things.  My other favourite thing is one on one sessions....This gives me the opportunity to get creative, style the session and concentrate on one subject....some of my best sessions have been Birthday Mini Shoots, simply because they are designed to be fun, and all about the birthday girl/boy.  Mostly they love to be the centre of attention.  Mostly that's what I love.  It took Paige one whole outfit change to warm into the session, then there was no stopping her, on the back of a long day (her Birthday Party earlier that day) she did soooo well, such a mini trooper!!

You may have seen this location in some of my other sessions, it has to be another one of my favourite places to visit.  It is a rarely used railway station at Swanbank.  An old steam train is the only train that uses the tracks.

IPSWICH PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | LOVEDAY FAMILY

It's hard to write about this family without a lump in my throat, so all I will say is that the more and more I have the pleasure of photographing them, the more I know they have achieved their precious portrait memories, just knowing that these images are now captured and will be cherished for life, simply warms my heart.  I've never seen a Grandma prouder than Di, it's such a wonderful loving bond that she and Toby share.  I love spending time with the Loveday family, especially watching Toby grow and reach his milestones.  I can't wait to see you all again when Toby turns ONE....until them, enjoy this sneak peek.

IPSWICH PET PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | FLINDERS VIEW VET SURGERY | SARAH & ANDREW

Pet's and their humans.....lets face it, people with kids say that theirs is the cutest and all dog lovers say that they have the GREATEST dog ever.  Dogs...... they love nothing more than to love and be loved, they are the most loyal "people" in our lives, they see us at our best and certainly at our worst.  They never judge us.    For many they are the best, life long companion to have ever come into our lives.  Their lives are so simple.  Wake up, get loved, eat, play, sleep, eat play, wait eagerly for their humans to arrive home from work, and get loved some more.  Take up way to much room in the bed, kiss their humans good night and of course good morning (way before we needed to wake up) get into way too much mischief....Yet these creatures bring so much joy to our lives, we wonder what we did before we got them, and what we'll do without them - one day.

Sarah and Andrew are Kiah and Sally's humans, they are their Best Friends....they also happen to have just opened our local Vet Surgery in Flinders View.....needless to say they have a passion for animals in general, but boy oh boy do they love their pooches!!  We were fortunate enough to venture out to this private property at Walloon....and I must say that I haven't met such well behaved dogs, off lead before - ever!!  Our beagles would have had no chance off lead with all the wonderful farm smells around.....

Introducing Sally (Border Collie), Kiah (Rottie X), Sarah (Practice Manager) and Andrew (Veterinarian) .......I had such a wonderful afternoon, getting to know these pets and their humans.

IPSWICH MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER | HAIGSLEA PROPERTY | ALEISHA & PAITON

I will never get bored with this location, and I will never get tired of photographing here.  Each time, it is different.  I always manage to see things a little differently each time I visit.  It is a favourite location among my clients and it is for me too.  This is a large acreage property at Haigslea, only a 15 minute drive from Ipswich.  I love that we can drive for a short time from the city and be in the country.  

I have actually lost count of the portrait sessions I have captured with Aleisha.  I love that we both have such a passion for photography, and how important it is to Aleisha that each of her and her families milestones are captured.  Needless to say that I will be lucky enough to watch her children grow as I photograph their milestones for many more years, how lucky I am.  Here are a couple of images from her recent Maternity session, I hope you enjoy them.

IPSWICH CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER | ROBELLE DOMAIN SPRINGFIELD | TEDDIES AND TUTUS

I don't know any kid who doesn't enjoy dressing up.  Little girls in Tutus and little boys with teddy bears in bow ties.....well, there's nothing sweeter.  These mini sessions proved to be a hit among the children who attended.  Exploring while on portrait sessions is my favourite thing to do. 

Each child is completely unique, and offers something great.  That is what makes each session different, their personalities are projected differently, but uniquely.  It's also what makes it fun.

WILLIAMSON FAMILY PORTRAITS | IPSWICH FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Exploring a new location for the first time for me is like a kid in candy store.  From having to reschedule due
to bad health from the week before, we decided that Mothers Day afternoon was the ideal date to chose for these very special Family Portraits.  So I spent the morning relaxing and spending quality time with my husband and one year old daughter before heading off to shoot this amazingly cute little family. It was an honour to share my first Mother's Day with such a lovely family, who share such a special bond.  Nan came along to the session to help with Little Miss A's smiles, which was nice.   Still  not feeling 100% little Miss A was such a trooper, you would have never guessed that she was a little under the weather.  This little property is tucked away in a valley at Karrabin, so we were able to avoid the wind, although it started to get dark and cold really quickly.  I just love all of their images, it would be hard to choose my favourite.

I love nothing more than having my own little domain to shoot portraits, I have gathered quite a collection of private property's for portrait session locations.  They all have one thing is common - Rustic, the longer the grass the better, the more run down, the better.  There is just something I love about the raw beauty of untouched land!!  You will notice this among the images that I capture, the settings are simple, just the way nature intended.

Meet Alicia and Trent, my 2 newest subjects to explore this wonderful property at Thagoona.  I find that these locations are PERFECT for Children's portraits.  They LOVE exploring with me, we find all sorts of unusual bird species. True Story.  Perhaps my imagination is still a little wild, but who's complaining?

McPHILLIPS CHILDREN'S PORTRAITS | IPSWICH CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER

If there's anything I just love, it's being out in the open air, taking it all in.  This Children's' Portrait Session locted just outside Walloon, offered just that, except the added bonus was photographing these amazingly cute little boys and their sister, complete with an old rusted out dairy truck, and at sun set.  What more could I ask for.  I have struck it lucky lately, everything has been falling into place just as we have planned, all my planets must be aligned.  The boys loved adventuring around the property and spotting all the different animals.  I couldn't help but laugh when the youngest little boy had the giggles from his brother stepping in horse poo, it was just the funniest thing, and he has the cutest most contagious giggle I might add.  Thanks Kel for all your trouble, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE these images, as I'm sure you do too.

EMMETT FAMILY PORTRAITS | IPSWICH FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

There are some people who come into our lives for a short while, and there are others that bless us by sticking  around.  Aleisha is the latter.  I have been ever so privileged that Aleisha chose me to capture her maternity portraits over 2 years ago now, and she has remained in front of my lens ever since.  Each year Aleisha has chosen to reward herself with Mother's Day portraits, which has become quite a tradition for her and her daughter.  This year she chose to include her Mum and Nan for some very special four generation portraits....how special.  We chose a quaint little location tucked away in one of the side streets in Ipswich.  I was lucky enough to spot this particular location one day as I just happened to be driving by.  Little Pai made me work hard for images of her this day, but I won in the end....I always do.  That's what happens with a little patience and perseverance.......me +1 Pai 0.

Thanks Aleisha, I'm sure you are stoked with these images, they gave me a little lump in my throat.....cherish your mumma, she's pretty special.

BIRTHDAY CLUB | ABBEY | BRISBANE CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER

I just LOVE having clients back each year, Abbey is having her second Birthday this month, and to help her Celebrate we went out to one of my favourite locations to photograph her very special Birthday Club Portraits.  I was a little nervous with the recent weather and hoped and prayed that we were going to beat the rain.  I arrived a little early, and the conditions were just perfect.  I absolutely love overcast days for portraits, and movie days on the couch, but mostly love it for portraits on location.  It's really just the simple things in life that make me happy, like uncut grass and clouds in the sky.  I had recently been to the Eumundi Markets and purchased the chest in these portraits as a prop for the studio and this was the first time I had used it.... I LOVE it....it suits just perfectly with the styling for this session.  Let me know what you think, leave me your opinions below....♥
