SWEET BABY GORDY | IPSWICH NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER | RACEVIEW PORTRAIT STUDIO

Meet sweet little Gordy, he was our special little Christmas baby, he was actually due on Christmas Day, but he was a perfect little gift who arrived early.

  Having beautiful photos of your baby when they are only just a few days old is very special. Imagine this little man when he is older looking at these photos of himself, I hope he looks back with smiles … 

Those first few weeks as a parent fly by in a blur ever so quickly. Quite often thinking about getting some photos taken is not high on the agenda when you are sleep deprived, your world has been turned upside down by the arrival of your new little addition. But believe me, you forget so quickly. They are only little for such a short time and newborn features disappear even more quickly. Those funny little expressions, flakey skin and tiny toes are soon replaced by smiles and chubby rolls. This is why I encourage mums to be to book in for their newborn session before your baby actually arrives and we can change the date if need be once you deliver. Looking back on photos of your tiny baby is something really special.

I just love her name, her Mum and Dad kept her name a secret to be revealed when she entered the world, such a lovely idea and such a beautiful name.

Meet Alexander!!

I first met Tai and Darren from the Pregnancy Babies and Children's Expo, and finally got to meet their handsome little man for his newborn portraits some months later.  Here's precious little Alexander, from what I remember he was 4 weeks old at his session, but came into the world a little early, so still so sleepy for being a little older than I usually photograph.

Nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby!!  I could just sit and watch my baby sleep like this ALL.DAY.LONG

I recently made a house call to this gorgeous family who already have 2 year old twin boys.  It would have been such a handful for Vicky to make the trip with them all, so I kindly offered to have her very first newborn session at home.... The twin boys proved to be much more work than I anticipated, they were so excited to have their baby sister home, Vicky certainly has her work cut out for her.  Most of our newborn sessions take place at my home based studio located in Raceview, Ipswich, however, I am happy to travel to your home for your newborn session to make life easier on you.

IPSWICH CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER | SWANBANK RAILWAY STATION | PAIGE

Little girls and tutu's.....2 of my favourite things.  My other favourite thing is one on one sessions....This gives me the opportunity to get creative, style the session and concentrate on one subject....some of my best sessions have been Birthday Mini Shoots, simply because they are designed to be fun, and all about the birthday girl/boy.  Mostly they love to be the centre of attention.  Mostly that's what I love.  It took Paige one whole outfit change to warm into the session, then there was no stopping her, on the back of a long day (her Birthday Party earlier that day) she did soooo well, such a mini trooper!!

You may have seen this location in some of my other sessions, it has to be another one of my favourite places to visit.  It is a rarely used railway station at Swanbank.  An old steam train is the only train that uses the tracks.

IPSWICH PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER | LOVEDAY FAMILY

It's hard to write about this family without a lump in my throat, so all I will say is that the more and more I have the pleasure of photographing them, the more I know they have achieved their precious portrait memories, just knowing that these images are now captured and will be cherished for life, simply warms my heart.  I've never seen a Grandma prouder than Di, it's such a wonderful loving bond that she and Toby share.  I love spending time with the Loveday family, especially watching Toby grow and reach his milestones.  I can't wait to see you all again when Toby turns ONE....until them, enjoy this sneak peek.

I was so honoured to be asked to photograph Raya for her very first portrait session, only a few days after her grand entrance into the world....Little Raya is the fourth addition to the Besgrove Family.....I'm told fourth and last :)  She was so delightful to photograph, such an easy baby to get into poses and stay sleeping, which is a rare thing.  Watching families grow is one of the best parts of my job, and helping them introduce their pride and joy to world gives me great pleasure.....Enjoy her sneak peek.

Braxton's mummy began planning his newborn session in the early days of her pregnancy, so needless to say that while the anticipation for them to meet their precious little boy was beyond words, I also was eagerly awaiting his arrival and could not wait to meet him.  He is known by the family as the little miracle baby.  He is such a handsome little man  and has his mummy and daddy lost for words.

Little baby Amelia was every bit as sweet as she looks here.  Such a darling little girl and so peaceful.  Captured here at 2.5 weeks of age, such a good little girl, as it's generally harder to achieve these poses, all the while keeping baby asleep.  My home based studio offers the perfect controlled environment for newborn portraits, fully equipped with heating and cooling, gentle soft music and props, blankets, headbands, beanies and wraps.  Sam I am sessions are NEVER rushed and there is always plenty of time and room for feeding and settling the new baby, and most importantly new mums can feel right at home on the lounge and relax with a cup of coffee and a book, while I get to work my magic and create gorgeous images of your brand new addition.

One of my most frequently asked questions is..... when is the ideal time to book in for your newborn portraits?.....There really isn't a hard or fast rule, it depends on the images that you want, typically under two weeks is ideal if it's the sleepy images you are after. Ideally, under 7 days is perfect.  Newborn babies tend to become less sleepy at around the 10 day mark, and are a little harder to settle.  Most expecting mother's pre-book their sessions for around their due date, and change this date according to when baby arrives.  I always keep spare weekday sessions for newborns so I can remain flexible in scheduling sessions.

We were very lucky to stumble across this location along the beaches at Redcliffe for Steph and Todds Maternity Portraits.  I hadn't been to this location before so I arrived early to find the perfect spot.  Perfect it was. 

There's something exciting about visiting a new place, with new clients, I always try and give each client a different experience and use different ideas, after all why shouldn't your portrait session be as unique as you are???

If you are unsure of the process, this is the "Sam I am" way.....there is no guess work, and nothing is left to chance.  Each session is carefully planned out to look just the way YOU intended.  Upon making contact with me, I will schedule a Pre Portrait Design Consultation - a no obligation "chat" to discuss what you are looking for to ensure I am the right photographer for you. We will also discuss locations, clothing choices, make-up, pricing, contracts and any other concerns you may have. This is also a fantastic opportunity for me to meet you in person so you don't have to deal with a "complete stranger" on the day of your creative session.  This is just the beginning the Portrait process.

It's been terribly (in a good way) hectic around here with newborn baby girl sessions, in fact, I have photographed 3 in a row, all equally as gorgeous.  Meet Harper, Harriet and Tallyn......each of these sessions took place at my home based studio located in Raceview.  My little studio is my newborn haven.  It is warm, cosy, smells divine and sounds great to boot.  I use a specially designed posing bag specifically for newborns, and gorgeous thick blankets and wraps.  There are cute little beanies, hand made headbands and all sorts of props to use as well, to add a personal element to each session.
